School has started.....some time ago

I'm going to try to update more now that school has started. For this Fall 2011, I'm taking Ani 28 and 55, so I will be drawing a lot, a lot a lot. But don't fret, that's a good thing.

So in Ani 28, we're working on cubes and how to draw them in perfect perspective, location studies, and gestures. The cubes were really confusing at first, but I think I was able to pull through.

Here are some pages of drawing cubes freehand from my sketchbook. They were done by me holding a plastic cube in one hand and draw with the other. as much as I can in an hour.

Then we went on to perspective. Perspective was somewhat hard for me and it took me a little while to get, but now it's okay at best. Gotta keep on practicing!

This one above should be rotated 90 degrees clockwise, but eh...

Next we did location studies. We just sat somewhere and drew what we saw, which is what I did.......sort of.

It's been a lot of work but I love every minute of it. :) I'll post what I've done in figure drawing later. I gotta get back to cubes....

  1. I like the title of that one page: "Cubes"--very straight forward. Keep posting!
