Wonder

There are two great videos I want to share.

First, a talk about good storytelling by Andrew Stanton from Pixar.

and a short film about New York City using what's called "tilt-shift photography."

Watching the video from Andrew Stanton, and after picking up a copy of The art of Lord of the Rings, I think I  am leaning over towards visual development. I would love to be able to tell a great story with only an illustration. It won't be easy, but I know I will get there.

Shine

This past weekend I went to Pajaro Dunes Resort for a church retreat with good friends from San Jose Christian Assembly. It was quite a blast, and I'm looking forward to the next one. The theme was "Shine" and Pastor Ernest Waldvogl came from New York to speak to us about how we must shine God's glory onto others.

My "notes"

I didn't sketch as mush as I wanted to, but I did enjoy the beauty of the resort and its uniqueness. I don't have any pictures at the moment unfortunately, but let's just say the beach house where the girls stayed at was quite awesome to say the least. I mean if you can call a basement that had an indoor pool, a pool table, an air hockey table, and a comfy couch to relax on awesome. :)

Great talks about God, great worship, and great fellowship.

What more could you ask for?

Fast Forward

Hi all, well I just never really got around to scanning anything but, here I am now!

The new Spring 2012 semester has started and everything has been pretty good so far. I just hope I don't burn out.

In my Intro to Illustration class, we need to keep a sketchbook comprised of mostly observation. Here are some of my favorite pages.

A Spontaneous New Sketchbook

Towards the end of Finals Week, I made somewhat of an impromptu decision to buy a new sketchbook. It was big enough to draw on, yet small enough to carry on fairly comfortably.

What was interesting about this sketchbook was able to whip out some good sketches, way better than before. Or maybe I just got all of my bad drawings out for the moment. Haha :)

Gotta keep sketching!!!

Rayman

So I was browsing the net, and once again I came across Rayman Origins. I realized that I really, really like the art style of the game, not to mention the game itself. Just watching gameplay videos show how smooth and great the game runs, plus it's artwork is quite gorgeous.

Some of the artwork!!

I am a little tempted to get this game, but considering I have some others to work on I guess I'll have to wait.
More artwork can be found here!!

Also, I would like to share this interview from the director of Pixar's newest short film, "La Luna."

Super excited!!! :)
